Everything I do begins at home. My wife, Linsey, and I chose Bentonville 20 years ago to raise our six children, and watching them grow up in our local schools, parks, and neighborhoods has been the greatest blessing of my life. For me, faith and family come first. I believe deeply in living according to my convictions, and just as strongly, I believe that everyone in our community deserves the same rights. Bentonville local government should be moral, principled, and deeply respectful of individual liberty—while remaining strictly faith-agnostic. No ordinance or policy should ever restrict a citizen’s freedom to worship, believe, or live according to their conscience, as long as it doesn't harm others. My commitment to Bentonville is driven by a desire to protect the family-first environment we fell in love with two decades ago, ensuring it remains a vibrant home our children will always want to return to. Through community engagement and public service initiatives, I aim to foster a supportive atmosphere where families can thrive.
A Commitment to Public Service
Taking the oath of office as a Bentonville City Council Member on May 22, 2026, was both a profound honor and a serious promise to the citizens of Bentonville. Serving on the Bentonville local government means embracing stewardship, accountability, and absolute transparency. I believe you deserve to understand not just what decisions are being made at City Hall, but how and why they are made. Whether we are discussing zoning, municipal budgets, or public safety, my goal is to enhance community engagement by bridging the gap between local government and everyday citizens through open, clear communication. I view every vote through a lens of fiscal responsibility—ensuring that our taxpayer dollars are managed intentionally and stretched as far as possible to deliver real, measurable value back to our community through effective public service initiatives.
Deep Local Roots & Civic Engagement
Receiving the Spirit of Bentonville Award from Mayor Orman in March 2026 was a humbling milestone that reflects my long-term personal investment in our city and deep engagement with Bentonville local government. Over the last twenty years, civic duty hasn't just been a hobby for me; it has been a lifestyle rooted in community engagement. Having served a six-year term on the Bentonville City Parks and Recreation Advisory Board, I’ve witnessed firsthand how essential world-class public spaces and recreational infrastructure are to our quality of life. As our region prepares for an unprecedented population boom, we cannot afford to play catch-up. I advocate for proactive infrastructure development through public service initiatives—ensuring our roads, water systems, public safety resources, and parks expand ahead of growth, rather than reacting after congestion and strain have already set in.
Investing in the Next Generation
For nearly two decades, some of my favorite moments in Bentonville have been spent on soccer fields and basketball courts coaching local youth sports through the City and the Boys & Girls Club. Coaching thousands of local kids teaches you a lot about patience, teamwork, and building trust early. Beyond the games, it keeps me grounded in what really matters in Bentonville local government: the everyday experiences of our families. When we discuss economic development, we must consider our community engagement strategy. Business and industry are coming to Northwest Arkansas whether we prepare for them or not. Instead of allowing a passive 'free-for-all,' I advocate for proactively recruiting the specific high-value businesses and industries we want in Bentonville. A targeted economic strategy, as part of our public service initiatives, expands our commercial tax base, relieving the burden on residential homeowners while funding the top-tier amenities our kids deserve.
Championing the Arts & Student Opportunities
As President of the Supporters of Bentonville Orchestras (SBO), I have the privilege of collaborating with remarkable educators like BHS Director of Orchestras Jesse Collett to foster the talents of hundreds of young musicians across our school district. SBO is a non-profit organization focused on enhancing programming, funding, and logistical support for our teachers and students—helping ensure that Bentonville’s music programs rank among the finest in the state. A vibrant arts community isn’t merely an additional amenity; it serves as a crucial pillar of a healthy, well-rounded city. My involvement with SBO not only reflects my commitment to community engagement but also aligns with my core philosophy on council: that strong public-private partnerships, dedicated volunteerism, and smart organizational management through public service initiatives can address complex challenges and create remarkable opportunities for our community without overly relying on Bentonville local government resources.
Promoting Family Literacy & Healthy Engagement
Through my digital platform, One Man Book Club, I’ve spent years sharing content-aware book reviews, facilitating book talks, and encouraging a lifelong love of reading for both youth and adults. Literacy is one of the most powerful tools we can give the next generation, but navigating today’s vast media landscape can be overwhelming for parents. My goal with One Man Book Club has always been to empower parents with the clear, honest information they need to have healthy, informed conversations with their children about the books they read. This commitment to community engagement is similar to my approach on the City Council, where I prioritize listening carefully, conducting thorough research, and respecting diverse perspectives. I champion practical public service initiatives that support and empower Bentonville families, enhancing their ability to thrive in today’s society.
